Get to Know Amy

Amy creates a trusting space for leaders to openly share and explore their behavioral patterns, strengths, and opportunities. Collaborating with her clients, she guides them through desired transformations, leading to enhanced performance, breakthroughs, and clarity in both their professional and personal lives.

Amy's style is characterized as fun-loving, thoughtful, direct, and compassionate, and she has served hundreds of leaders in the private and public sectors for over two decades. She takes an objective and holistic view of situations and provides specific, honest, kind, and actionable feedback.

Throughout her career, Amy has thrived in various industries, including finance, gaming, manufacturing, and most recently, higher education. She held the position of Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Community Relations at American Public Education, Inc., where she built a respected HR department from scratch. During her tenure, she automated HR functions, played a crucial role in change management, and ensured psychological safety while transitioning the workforce to remote operations.

 

Amy holds a master's degree in Management with a concentration in Human Resources. She has earned the Senior Professional Human Resource Certification (SPHR) and the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation. Her accomplishments have been recognized with awards such as being honored as one of "West Virginia's Wonder Women of 2020" by West Virginia Living Magazine and receiving the "Jefferson County Distinguished Citizen" award in 2018. She has also served on several Boards of Directors, including Leadership West Virginia, the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, and various community organizations.

 

In her personal life, Amy resides in Charles Town with her family. Her connection to the military runs deep, as her father and husband are both Air Force veterans, and her oldest son serves in the United States Marine Corps. Her other son attends the United States Air Force Academy. Amy and her husband have been married for almost 24 years and enjoy spending time with their children, hiking, working out, listening to music, exploring wineries and breweries, and traveling.
